Customs Specialist – Client-Focused & Growth Role

Our client is a very well-established customs broker in Mississauga.
They are the strategic partner that their clients rely on to navigate the complexities of global trade.
They are seeking an ambitious Customs Specialist.
This role is designed for those who thrive on variety, excel under pressure, and want to see their expertise directly impact client success.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Customs Specialist building strong relationships and becoming a trusted client advisor for a wide range of importers
- Execute with Precision the complete lifecycle of customs entries, ensuring accuracy in HS Tariffs classification, valuation, and origin determination for a wide range of products
- Solve Complex Problems through proactively resolving customs issues, requests for information, and other issues directly with CBSA and PGAs/OGDs on behalf of your clients
What You Bring:
- 3-5 years minimum experience in a customs brokerage firm rating/releasing all modes, from opening the file to final billing
- CCS designation is preferred, they are more interested in your experience and what you know.
- Excellent knowledge of the Harmonized System Tariffs
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize and juggle multiple priorities
- Possess a good knowledge of CBSA and OGD regulations and Trade Agreements like CUSMA/USMCA
- Assisting clients in on-boarding new customers into the CARM Portal and CARM-related inquiries
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate information, solve problems and make correct decisions
- Established work ethic, with a positive attitude and team-oriented
- Clear written/oral communication and strong problem-solving skills
- Proactive, self-motivated mindset with a passion for continuous learning

Compensation: Salary is between $63,000 – $73,000, based on industry experience and qualifications; generous salary review and increase after 6 months and a generous bonus program; significant after-hours clearances income program also.
