The ideal candidate will have strong experience in customs compliance/operations and border management, along with an interest in advocacy and change management. A collaborative, consultative approach to advocacy and managing change is the leadership style sought in the successful candidate. Innovation and ideas for improvement of programs and services will be supported.

This opportunity is unadvertised: Salary range: $125K-135K+, negotiable; 5-6 weeks vacation (according to seniority).

The mandate:

• Consulting with stakeholders to determine needs
• Advocacy with CBSA officials regarding legislative program changes
• Implementing and managing changing programs with stakeholders
• Subject matter expert in customs and border management
• * A full position description will be provided to qualified candidates


• Management experience in a customs broker, consulting or trade advocacy organization, or a corresponding dept within the CBSA or other relevant government departments
• CCS or CTCS qualifications desirable but not essential
• Strong technical knowledge of CBSA legislative programs gained in customs compliance or customs operations management roles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong consultative, organizational, problem solving and decision-making
• AMPS/Compliance, Audits, Valuations, Exportations knowledge base desirable
• A hands-on approach to serving the stakeholders
• Proactive in following up with stakeholders and providing feedback
• Team-player, focused on creating successful solutions to client problems

Compensation: The salary range is negotiable, 5-6 weeks vacation
