Job description

Our client is seeking a full-time Senior Air Import Coordinator role at the office located in St-Laurent, Qc. The individual will be responsible for following up on Aircraft charters and liaising with stakeholders through the process.

Responsibilities:

Working under the direction of the Air Import Manager, the Senior Air Import Coordinator has the following main responsibilities:

  • Shipment tracking, monitoring from start to end, handling, billing, and delivery
  • Booking of cargo with transport companies
  • Liaise with overseas, airlines, warehouses, and truckers as required to promptly communicate and organize the flow according to schedule and expected delivery set
  • Review and approval of suppliers’ invoices on a timely basis
  • Review and approval of overseas agents’ remittance on a timely basis
  • Correspondence with overseas offices
  • Guaranteeing and billing of storage for approved accounts
  • Responsible for resolving in a diligent and business efficient manner customer complaints and implementing measures to prevent their frequency and recurrence
  • Responsible to resolve internal and operation problems in a diligent and business efficient manner in order to prevent service deficiencies and/or customers’ dissatisfaction
  • Improve on an ongoing basis internal systems and procedures in order to favor customer service and department internal efficiency
  • Other tasks and duties assigned by the manager from time to time

Role Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in air freight import operations, within an international freight forwarding organization
  • Good knowledge of the Air import processes and regulations
  • Flexibility for working schedule
  • Customer service oriented
  • Understands the importance of teamwork and of maintaining harmonious and collaborative relations with his/her superiors, working colleagues, and other departments’ or stations’ personnel
  • Person meticulous and accountable
  • Ability to set priorities and organize workload assigned in an efficient manner
  • Must have strong skill sets in utilizing excel, and other MS Office applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and in French, verbal and written

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid working – remote and on-site
  • 40 hours per week
  • Overtime may be required
  • Working days scheduled may vary according to shipment schedule, in the evening and on weekends
  • Shifts assigned weekly (weekends may be required)
