Our client has a long-established reputation for excellence in International Freight Forwarding. Due to continued growth, they are hiring a Sales Coordinator with freight forwarding – Ocean or Air experience – to work with a dynamic Sales and Operations team.

For the first 3-months of probation, the position is in-office; after successful completion of probation, the position will change to 2/3 day hybrid.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working with the team, ensuring that cohesive communication is established so clients are retained,  and Business opportunities are expanded
  • Handling inbound calls and requests from Potential Prospects/Clients
  • Assist with ensuring that Carrier Contracts are Filed correctly, so Quoting to Clients can be completed
  • Updating Electronic Media for Sales Campaigns, using Google, LinkedIn, Website, email platforms
  • Verifying key contacts and qualifying Sales leads and communicating findings to Sales
  • Transparent and responsive communication with operations and agents regarding carriers, routing, costs, quotes
  • Identifying new business opportunities within existing customers via Ocean/Air/Truck/Rail modes of transport

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Basic understanding of global logistics and international freight forwarding (ocean, air, rail, truck)
  • Strong business acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong computer skills, electronic media skills
  • Personable, energetic, motivated
  • Strong time management skills

Experience/Qualifications:
  • 3 years experience in sales coordination or freight operations within freight forwarding preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Effective organizational ability
  • Strong time management skills
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel etc.
  • Capable of building strong, lasting relationships with customers
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Cold calling or sales calling ability, when required
