Salary range: $68,000 to $73,000, plus full benefits package

A very well-established customs broker and freight forwarder with an extensive customer base of blue chip and Fortune 500 companies is seeking a senior customs compliance professional, to provide knowledgeable and accurate guidance in all matters of trade and regulatory matters.
- Perform compliance oriented entry audits
- Educate internal and external stake holders of processes, regulations, and information required in order to properly import the client’s industry commodity
- Provide guidance on correct back up documentation to participate in Free Trade Programs (FTA), Provide clients with information about how their products qualify and what supporting documentation they will need to provide in the event of an audit of their FTA claims
- Document through SOP’s, training logs, etc.
- Receive, respond to and action Customs requests for information
- Take appropriate action based on outcomes
- Update SOP’s internally with staff, educate client’s and staff on any requirements or supporting documentation that may need to be updated.
- Act as Liaison between Customs and Client.
- Explain the request and explain the documentation and information needed in pursuit of positive outcomes.
- Validate that required information has been obtained for oncoming accounts.
- Validate and Maintain validation packages for POA’s, review databases for accuracy. Explain Customs requests such as CF28’s, CF29’s, or other actionable items like marking notices to clients. Track, monitor, and manage broker responses to Customs requests for information – update policies as needed to show reasonable care.
- Help staff to identify Customs priority trade issues and ensure both staff and clients have adequate training on how to communicate with client’s and show that “reasonable care” has been taken
- Ensure process is documented. Provide Customs advice as needed to clients as requested to include HTS classification, Partner Government Agency reporting, Commercial documentation requirements and any special import programs such as TIB’s, Free Trade Programs
- Manage and file all Post Summary Corrections, Protests, Mitigations, Reconciliation, and Drawback programs
- Manage and action penalties and FP&F activities
- Action accounting activity as appropriate
- Monitor and reconcile monthly and daily statement with accounting
- Track status of compliance activity (PSC, Protest, ETC). Use the ACE web portal to monitor and action compliance activity (TIB’s, Liquidation, Statement, etc.) Educate clients on the ACE web portal and provide training on the tools available to them in the portal
- Provide export guidance to clients as appropriate
- Provide compliance oriented training and coaching to internal and external stake holders
- Manage and file all Post Summary Corrections, Protests, Mitigations, Reconciliation, and Drawback programs
