You have experience with ground logistics in a 3PL or freight forwarder, and you are looking for a company with decades of strength in the market, take the step forward and upward. The shipment volume is approximately 50 files per month.
- Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Surface Transportation Coordinator is the key contact to manage all of their customers’ domestic and cross-border transportation needs. The focus of the position is working with customers, shippers, vendors, and receivers to ensure the most efficient movement of product from origin to final destination.
- Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the arrangement of all freight requests received from customers (FTL, LTL, IM)
- Co-ordinate with other departments to ensure the accurate rating of files
- Co-ordinate loading with suppliers and carriers
- Assist to facilitate preparation of all regulatory documentation where necessary
- Co-ordinate unload with receivers
- Track and trace cargo through to delivery
- Investigate additional service charge claims and service issues
- Timely transfer files to the Associate desk for freight invoicing
- Qualifications:
- 1 – 2 years experience in transportation (domestic / cross-border) an asset
- Multi-modal experience also an asset (FTL, LTL, IM)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Efficient multitasking and time management skills
- Sound decision making qualities and problem solving skills
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
