You will manage the daily operations of the ocean imports department, leading and coaching the ocean team to meet individual and departmental goals regarding productivity, customer satisfaction, and profitability.

Your style is a hands-on leadership approach, working with dynamic and positive minded colleagues in a fast-paced and ever-changing customer focused environment.


  • Creating an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture, setting clear team goals 
  • Listen to team members feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
  • Encourage creativity and solution based options 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with overseas agents and customers

Training & Development:

  • Training and management of import team towards maximum performance and job satisfaction
  • Identifying training and development needs within the team through job analysis and appraisal tools
  • Designing and expanding training and development programs based on both the organization’s and the individual’s needs
  • Devising individual learning plans
  • Monitoring and reviewing the progress through questionnaires and discussions 
  • Conducting regular performance appraisals
  • Providing customer quotations when required
  • Maintain quality standards for operational export/import procedures and improve them where necessary 
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with suppliers
  • Customer service to the clients, liaison with specific customers to maintain customer base

Finance and Administration: 

  • Meet set budget and sales goals
  • Assure timely billing as per company policy


  • 3-5 years management or supervisory experience in international ocean import freight 
  • Innovative, creative, dynamic and self-motivated leadership style
  • Very customer focused; possessing analytical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Fluently bilingual – French/English, spoken and written

Compensation: strong base salary, plus quarterly bonus and full benefits
